Hey there crew, it's Mark from Mark your pages and in todays video I am so excited to share with you four functional ways that I like to use washi tape inside of my bullet journal. I have so many washi tapes in my collection and finding interesting ways to use them is always top of mind. I like to use them functionally for things like page markers, tip-ins, and to fix my mistakes. Let’s review each one today and find new ways for you to use your washi. 

The materials that you're going to need for today are

• Bullet Journal
• Archer & Olive Blackout Notepad
• a few different types of washi tapes. take a look through your collection and see what might work best.
• A small pair of scissors. We're going to be using this to cut the washi tape, and in some cases cut out parts of the washing tape to make our own stickers. 

The first thing I like to do with my washi tape is use it to make flags inside of my planner. I do this by cutting a 3 inch or so long piece of washi tape. That length may change depending on your individual needs. And I fold it in half. I cut from the open bottom (usually on the right) and over on the left hand side up to the top left.

Once I open up this washi, it'll be a perfect flag. Now I can put this inside of my planner to identify any important task, events, or call attention to something that's important.

The second way I like to use washi functionally inside of my bullet journal is to actually turn it into a sticker. So often washi tapes have different designs and patterns on them. In some cases they are icons or photos. We can create our own washi stickers by cutting around those individual shapes, photographs, or icons and putting them right into our notebook. You can use these stickers next to headers, days of the week, along with creating action boxes around them to call extra attention to them.

The third way that I like to use washi functionally inside of my bullet journal is to actually create faux tip-ins. If you're not the type of person that likes to write on extra paper around your office or home, but you still like the look of tipping something into your notebook, you can create this really easily using washi tape. Cut a small piece of washi tape and place it on to your notebook. Then you can use a ruler or freehand and draw a rectangle shape around it. Fill in the space with tasks, to do's, or any important information that you want to call out.

The next way that I like to use washi functionally inside of my bullet journal is to use it to fix mistakes. No matter what I do and how much time I take, I will always make writing mistakes inside of my journal. And I'm not one to try and rip out a page if it doesn't turn out okay. So I've turned to washi tape to fix my mistakes. Cut a piece of washi tape to the same size as the mistake that you made and placed it over top. You can continue with your header or information right next to it. 

The last tip that I’m going to share for you today is using washi tape as a page identifier. There are a lot of people who do not like to use indexes inside of their notebooks. And while I am not one of those people, I do understand that you still need to color pages and find them easily.

One way to do that is to cut a piece of washi tape and fold it over a page at the top or on the side. What's great about this is that you can see the page when your notebook is closed. That way you can easily identify where that pages and if you really want to take it to the next level color code it so you know exactly what the page is for.
