How To Create A Spring Bucket List
Each year, some of us set new goals and while I agree that setting goals can be essential to our lives, sometimes it can be a little dare I say, intimidating. Which is why I’ll be sharing with you how I create a spring bucket list each year. For me, a bucket list is a creative way of setting goals without the stress of having rigid timelines. A bucket list is more of a checklist than a deadline for your yearly\seasonal plans and I like the flexibility of that kind of planning process.
Hello everyone. My name is Keisha from @k.moartsy.journals and for more art and journal inspiration you can find me on Instagram at that handle. Today we’re creating a spring bucket list in the Archer & Olive 8X8 sized journal. This bucket list will help you keep track of all of your future plans and goals in a functional and creative way. In this blog I will be sharing what supplies you will need to create your bucket list, spring activity ideas and ideas on how to design your bucket list!
So Here’s what you’ll need:
- 8x8 Archer & Olive notebook
- Medium of choice (watercolor, colored pencils, and or markers).
- Pencil
- Black fine line pen
- Stickers (optional)
What is a bucket list?
First, let’s start by defining what a bucket list is. A bucket list is a list of the experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime. I like to approach the idea of a bucket list as a marathon and not a sprint. The experiences that you have on your bucket list can reflect lofty goals such as going on a 2-week vacation in another country of your choice or setting a reading goal for the month. Your bucket list can be made to reflect the year, month or it can even be seasonal. For the purposes of this blog I will be sharing a spring bucket list (seasonal).
Now let’s get started!
Activities to choose for your bucket list
When creating a seasonal bucket list you can begin with tasks relating to the particular season you’re in. For example, in the spring some people enjoy gardening so you can dedicate one of your bucket list goals to starting a small garden. When choosing a goal for a seasonal bucket list be sure to choose a goal that can be attained within the time frame you’ve chosen. For instance, if you want to read 10 books in the spring (which lasts around 90 days or so) make sure that the allotted time frame will be enough for you to achieve the goal.
Below is a list of other spring time ideas to choose from:
- gardening
- fitness goals
- spring cleaning
- visit a festival
- go to a farmers market
- set a spring reading goal
- go for a bike ride
- make a homemade treat for a neighbor or a friend.
This is truly where the fun begins and the possibilities are endless!
How to decorate your bucket list
First let me state that there is no right or wrong way to decorate your bucket list. I have chosen the checklist format because it allows me to use my artistic skills. I have also chosen to use watercolor and the Archer & Olive acrylograph and calliograph markers. The Archer & Olive notebooks have a paper thickness of 160 gsm, which is really great for creators who like to use watercolors and markers. I’m using the 8X8 Archer & Olive notebook but you could use any size Archer& Olive notebook for this project.
If you don’t want to use illustrations for your bucket list you could also use stickers to demonstrate your chosen activity.
