Hello friends, Adrienne from @studio80design here today to share a tutorial on how to create a fall foliage circle watercolor illustration! Ever since the new Archer and Olive Watercolor Notebooks came out, I've been loving using it to create watercolor illustrations. One of my favorite ways to watercolor is with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens! They are water-based so all you have to do is all water and they turn into watercolors! Plus, they come in 108 beautiful colors! Let's get started!

Materials you'll need:

• Archer and Olive Watercolor A5 Fleur de Bleu Spiral Dot Grid Notebook
• Tombow Dual Brush Pens in fall colors (I used 757, 993, 761, 312, 379, & 569)
• Pencil
• Round object to trace a circle in your notebook
• Tombow Round Waterbrush
• Tombow Blending Palette
• Eraser
• Tombow MONO Drawing Pen 01

Step 1

After tracing a circle in the center of your page of your Archer and Olive Watercolor Notebook with a pencil, swatch out your fall colors onto your blending palette. Use the Tombow Round Waterbrush to dip into your lightest color and paint stem and leaves on the inside of your circle. We're going to work from lightest to darkest shades. It's important to begin with your lightest color because we are going to be layering the foliage around the circle. If you start with your darker colors, then when you layer it with the lighter colors the colors will bleed, but not in a good way. 

After you first layer of leaves are down in the lightest shade, pick up color from your second lightest shade and paint them inside your circle, varying them from the previous leaves.

Step 2

Continue through all your colors until you have filled in the area around your circle. Vary the shapes of each set of leaves, and you can even add in some berries at the end! I left a small space empty in the middle to write a small saying later.

Step 3

After your watercolor has completely dried, lightly erase the pencil circle with your eraser. Now it's time to add some embellishments to the leaves with the Dual Brush Markers. I went back in with the bullet tip of each marker to add tiny line details to the leaves and berries. Then in the center I wrote "To every thing there is a season" with my MONO Drawing Pen 01 in small letters.
