How To Create A White Space Floral Monogram + 12 FREE Bullet Journal Cover Designs

by Content Team 23 Jun 2022 0 Comments

Hi Friends! It’s Rose here from @littlemissrose on Instagram and YouTube.  In this blog post I’m going to show you how to create a white space floral monogram.  These are great as monthly cover pages in your bullet journal.

To draw your white space floral monogram you’ll need the following:

  • Notebook or paper
  • A Pencil
  • Black pens

Make sure to use my affiliate code ROSE10 for anything you purchase from Archer & Olive!  It will get you 10% off your order.

Step 1:  Decide on your background shape

You can create any shape you like as long as it’s a large solid shape.  I’ve decided to go with an oval shape and I've roughly sketched it out on my page here.  It doesn’t have to be perfect, so don’t worry too much.

Other ideas are, squares, rectangles, hearts, diamonds.

Step 2:  Add your block letter

This design is most effective if you use a large block letter (or letters).  If you can’t draw one free hand then feel free to trace a font into your notebook.  You can check out this blog post here on how to trace onto your Archer & Olive notebook.

Step 3:  Fill the space with florals

Don’t worry, this step doesn’t require you to be an artist.  Using a pencil first, draw lots of flowers and leaves within your shape, but stay out of the letter that you created in the last step.  The letter will be left blank.  Try and cover as much space as you can with the florals.  This will make the next step less tedious.

Step 4:  Colour it in

Using a black pen (I like to use fineliners), fill in the space between the flowers and leaves with tiny circles.  Colour in any space around them in black.

Once you’re done, you’ll have an amazing monogram piece like this!

You can watch exactly how I’ve created this piece in the video below.  Just a note, this took me 45 mins in real time to complete.

If you’re feeling lazy and don’t think you have time for this, no problem!  I’ve created one of these for each month in the printable that you can download here:

I hope you’ve found this blog post useful and that you try creating this yourselves in your notebook!  If you do please share and tag @littlemissrose and @archerandolive in your creations!
