Set New Year Goals In Your Bullet Journal

by Nabaa Afridi 14 Dec 2020 0 Comments

Hello friends! It’s Nabaa from @whimsical.doodles here :) So this might be a little too soon but I thought I’d get an early start to planning out the next year! I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a wild card to say the least.

I know this year didn't go exactly as planned for a lot of us but I think it ended up being one that really made us - or at least me - dig deep and learn about what’s most important to us.

As someone who almost never sticks to her new year resolutions, I wanted to try something a little different this year. I’ve never used my journal to intentionally plan out a year and map goals so I want this to finally be the year I use my journal to plan out the absolute most!

If you’re looking to set goals for the new year and want to use your journal to do so, keep reading for tips and ideas on how :)

Let’s begin! Here’s everything I used to help set up my plan for the new year:

Remember that you can use my code WHIMSICAL10 for any purchase off the Archer and Olive website

  • Archer and Olive A5 notebook - this is my favourite size to use but if you’re looking for a bigger notebook for the new year, check out their B5 size here!
  • Acrylograph Pens - I'm using the Jewel Set here
  • Pencil and Eraser - I use a pencil to quickly map out my spread and it makes it so much easier to avoid mistakes!

Here's a quick little video showing you the Acrylograph pens in action!

These pens have been such a game changer! I love adding paint to my journal but it can get a little messy and time consuming. These Acrylographs have made it so so much easier to add in rich vibrant colours to my Bullet Journal!

To start off, I made a quick list of any and all goals I want to focus on in the new year. This page worked more like a brain dump page where I listed down everything I wanted to work on. I created this spread in my notebook for 2020 so I’d know exactly what I want to focus on. Use the layout below to list down all your ideas for the new year!

I then wanted to divide my goals into 4 separate sections. I focused on personal, professional, health and finance goals. I used the layout below to categorize my resolutions:
