Summer Bucket List

by Maria Irina 02 Jul 2020 0 Comments

Hey there and welcome back to the blog!

Masha here from Masha Plans and today we are talking about bucket lists, particularly a summer bucket list!

Well look into why you should have one, I‘ll give you some doodle inspirations to create your own and share with you my bucket list for this summer.

But first….

SUPPLIES

Of course, for me, it’s all about my B5 Archer and Olive notebook. My go-to creative space.

For color, I used my favorite Zebra Mildliners and Tombow Twin Tone markers. These are really my go-to when it comes to using color on my pages.

I think I also used a few of my Faber Castell Pitt Artist Brush Pens for my actual bucket list. I’ve been really enjoying those and their small tips so convenient for detailed coloring.

For black lines, I used Faber Castell Pitt Artist pens as well as Tombow Fude hard tip brush.

Uh and there is some washi and stickers involved as well since I promised myself to use everything I buy. Washi is from Simply Gilded and SumLilthings. Stickers are Happy Planner ones (got such a great deal on these!) and Shine Stickers Studio.

Uh uh! I also used some stickers from the Simply Gilded Subscription box! How could I forget these beauties?!

Ok now that’s really it.

HOW TO BUCKET LIST

Let’s first talk about what a bucket list is  - it’s a list of things we want to do.

Something that is kind of a dream but a dream we’re intent on making come true.

It’s pretty easy and fun to create bucket lists in just a few steps.

First - spend some time thinking about what you want. It seems like an easy thing to do, but it really takes an effort. Think about things you really want to do and things you are ready to work towards, not just something cute you saw on Pinterest (totally guilty of the latter!).

Next - stay focused on your wishes and create an action plan on how to make them come true. It doesn’t have to be a very detailed plan or an essay on how to achieve goals. A bucket list is something fun, so just make a note on what you think you need to do to make it happen and then, start working on it, one little step at a time.

Most importantly - have fun with it! Don’t put extra pressure on yourself. Just play around with it and see the law of attraction working for you.

BENEFITS OF HAVING A BUCKET LIST

Not very convinced on why you’d like a bucket list in your journal?

Well, let me convince you with a few benefits you’ll get out of it!

Probably the most important thing about a bucket list is that it makes you think about what you want. Time goes by so fast that often you get lost with your day to day tasks and don’t really pay enough attention to enjoy the moment.

With the bucket list, you become mindful of things you actually enjoy and want to do. This is a signal to your brain, so subconsciously, it’ll be looking for ways to make these things happen.

Creating a bucket list can also push you to be more creative with your pastime. You might have one or two ideas for your list, but when you have to fill out a whole page it can get pretty challenging.

Which in turn will push you to be more creative, to dig deeper into what you might enjoy, and to broaden your horizons, bring new experiences to your life.

Finally having a list will push you to make these things happen - there is just so much satisfaction in crossing things off the list! And in turn, this will make your life a bit happier and more exciting.

SUMMER DOODLES

Before you sit down to do your Summer bucket list, I thought I’d share with you some doodle ideas.

After all, I’m using a bucket list as yet another reason to doodle, why shouldn’t you.

SUMMER BUCKET LIST

Finally we’re here and ready to create our summer bucket lists.

When creating a list for this summer (that will definitely be a strange one with the pandemic still going on), think about  this:

  • What are some things I can do safely maintaining social distancing?
  • What are some things I can do and love without spending a lot of money?
  • What activities I love doing during summer can be changed and done at home?

I think in this economic and social situation, it’s so easy to just get locked in and forget about the little things you enjoy.

So when you sit down to create your bucket list for this Summer, be sure to think creatively of the things that’ll bring you joy, even if you can’t really add beach vacation to the list.

As an example, here is my list for the summer. It’s all about enjoying the weather and the backyard, staying healthy, and loving the little things.

It’s definitely a dream list since in Bolivia it’s winter, but I know I can do a few while I’m here in Oklahoma.

I never add checkboxes to my bucket lists, since for me, it’s more of a vision board situation than an exact to-do list. But if you need some extra motivation and really want to do it all - just add checkboxes!

It’s such a simple thing but really checking things out is a strong motivation!
